MapServing
Web 2.0 Application
Background
A common misstep in the new Web 2.0 world is to develop wonderful online applications and surround them with sub-par design and messaging, hoping that the strength of the “app” can overcome any potential usability or design flaw. As exemplified by the many Web 2.0 companies that have come and gone in a flash, many are realizing that usability and design issues still must be kept at the forefront. Mapserving, an online access point for sharing and sending public and private maps, realized this point early on and brought [whitepenny] in to help them convey the message that is easily understood once you experience the application: mapserving.com is quite simply the best way to send and share maps on the web.
Approach
[whitepenny] developed the logo and the identity system first, and using these newly developed assets created highly usable web interface schematics from which the developers at mapserving.com would create this truly unique online experience. The new website is set to launched in 2007.
